Beverly Gertrude Tatz (nee Zoot) left this world quickly and unexpectedly on the morning of December 8th. She was 90 years old at the time. Beverly was preceded in death by her dear husband, Irving Philip Tatz. She is survived by her three children: Michael (Mary) Tatz; Janet (David Morey) and Marcia (David) Wollner, seven grandchildren and eight great grand children, as well as many devoted cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Chicago, Beverly and Irving moved to Montana in 2005 to be closer to family. Although quite a contrast to her earlier urban lifestyle, Beverly soon came to love and embrace the Western landscape and lore.
Beverly was the consummate volunteer, sharing her time and energy helping others in so many ways. She was an active member of Congregation B’nai Zion, in Chicago, as well as Hadassah, ORT, Brandeis and so many other organizations.
Beverly cherished time spent with others and was most happy when surrounded by friends and family. She was a wonderful correspondent, keeping in touch via phone and letters, even up until the end.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on today, December 10th, at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. Burial will take place at Home of Peace Cemetery, in Helena, following the funeral service. A reception will follow the burial in the social hall at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Beverly’s name may be made to Hadassah, 40 Wall St. New York, NY 10005 or Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) 400 Washington Ave. Montgomery, Al. 36104.
May her memory be for a blessing.

She regularly corresponded with my mom, which always brought a smile to my mother. May all of those beautiful memoirs be a blessing and comfort to you, Janet, and the entire family.

I last spoke to Beverly just a few weeks ago. Even then she spoke fondly of my mother Leah and their close relationship beginning in childhood. I remember she always referred to herself as Cousin Beverly, as if I could forget who she was. My sympathies to the rest of the family.

Dear Janet and family,
Thank you for the fond memories in sharing your parents with us during your time living here in Missoula. I have such fond memories of your mom. I regret not having current memories with your family. The tenderness found in the separation of soul from body is an opportunity to be more attentive to those we cherish. I’m paying attention ?
